Insane Goals for 2012- FebEnd Review
It’s time to review my goals that I made for Feburary.
There has been no weight lost even though I have tried to do a 21 day weight lost challenge. I blame it on not being to follow the plan through as we were on holidays in Taiwan last month.
What I accomplished in Feburary
- I joined a few other bloggers and hosted a few giveaways. It has helped to increase my twitter and FB fan page count and I think I may continue to do a few giveaways each month if the time permits.
- Let the boys stay behind with their granny and brought Tiger girl on a short holiday with R to Taiwan. It was a great trip and I took many pictures. Can’t wait to go back and visit Taiwan again.
- The kids toy cabinet has been 80% re arranged , Book shelf books all packed and clothes all put nicely into their cupboard. Hopefully it all stays this way till the end of the month or even longer
- I’ve managed to do 30 min exercises at least 3 times a week. I’m gravitating more towards WII active then Zumba..but should try for a 4 or 5 day workout schedule a week if possible.
Feburary fails
- Weight is still stagnant and 60kg is still no where in sight.
- I didn’t get as many sponsored post this month to do. I did choose to turn down a few companies and stuff as they were requesting do-follow links which is a no-no for GOOGLE.
- I still haven’t got around to finishing up all the Guest post which I would like to do and readings for Feburary. I guess the will have to be carried forward into March instead.
- I have yet to complete the Japanese materials which I will be teaching the kids. We may have to push back learning of Japanese till April or so or when I have finished all the relevant stuff.
- I have YET to get started on Tiger girl’s photobook. It has to be done soon as the vouchers are expiring in May if I remember correctly.
Here is are my goals for 2012

Insane Goals for 2012- Jan End Review
It’s time to review my goals that I made for January.
I’m still struggling with weight lost after losing 1 kg over the holidays. I am hoping for to hit 60 by April.
I have joined a 21 day weight lost challenge and hopefully it will help motivate me better in being accountable for my own weight lost.
I’m crossing off the items that I have completed so far from the list below and here’s a summary of things that have been done this month
1. Increase revenue on my blog- Dominique’ Desk I’ve managed to get a few sponsored post for Jan and the amount earned is enough to cover the hosting/domain for the next year. I’m hoping to reach the target of having enough to purchase a DSLR for Christmas.
2.I’ve got 3 guest post for Jan and have scheduled another 3 guest post for Feb so I’m doing fine in that department so far.
3. The kids toy cabinet has been de cluttered and left with 20% to rearrange.
4. We haven’t gone on a date night as yet but am going for a short holiday to Taiwan with only he girl next week

Weekend reflections
This week had been extremely busy for me. We celebrated Chinese new year on Monday and Tuesday. Frankly speaking it doesn’t feel much of a celebration to me this year. I don’ t feel the joy of the festive season and it’s more like going through the motions then really enjoying the celebrations. I’m not sure if it’s because as we age the joy and expectations diminish.
The kids too are rather muted this year of the dragon due to the current economic climate. There are no fancy restaurant dinner and the food that was served was not really suited to their taste buds. I would have loved to celebrate CNY in Hong Kong but we aren’t going there so soon as we just went back to Hong kong in Sept last year. Maybe in one of these years when it’s possible to have a long weekend as we only get two days of holidays here in Singapore.
I’m looking forward to our upcoming trip next week with Tiger girl. It will be the fourth country she will be visiting. She’s a rather seasoned traveller as she has travelled to Bali, Penang and Hong Kong and now to Taiwan and she ‘s not even two
This week reading is on Psalm 1. I’m trying to faithfully read the bible and live a better christian life.
Psalm 1 talks about to lead your life the way god wants it and no based on the ways of the world.
It mentions not to walk in the ways of the wicked and evil, to talk bad or mock others. Instead to leave the judgments to god and try to live by his commandments.
The psalmist teaches that it shall be always well with God’s devout servants, whose constant endeavor it is to make progress in the study of his law. To steer way from corruptions and it’s related evils.
To me it means do not be envious about others. It is okay to want to be as successful as others but constant comparison and using comparison to put down yourself or the other person is a definitely NO-NO. Everyone is different and shouldn’t be constantly compared to one another. You can never keep up with the Jones and it is not something you want to do your whole life- chase the almighty DOLLAR instead of GOD.
Be grateful for what you have and the blessings that GOD has bestowed onto you. Don’t take other’s kindness and generosity for granted and cherish what you have.

Year End Review 2011
In two weeks time we will be welcoming 2012. The year 2011 has really zoomed pass and there has been a lot of changes here at home. I have been trying out a new schedule and have the kids helping out more in the house.
There will be some changes in our schedule as I will stepping up on academics with my Doggie boy as he enters K2.
He has progressed a lot this year and is able to write and read independently now at 5 yrs ago. It’s a stark improvement since he turned 4 and he is more willing to sit down and study with me at night after dinner. However I still have to ensure that he is adequately prepared for P1 in 2 years time.
Baby girl has started walking and can walk independently by herself. It will get more tiring chasing after her and making sure that she remains safe. She is rather “fearless” and still hasn’t the concept of danger. She can climb up to the upper bunk of her brother’s bed by herself. I have to really watch her like a hawk to safeguard her from falling into any nasty scraps. She is getting very vocal and will not hesitate to let you know what she likes/dislikes. Tiger girl is more adventurous now and have been asking to taste more different foods. She has taken rice and noodles so far and prefers to eat noodles like her brothers. She loves eating fruits like Doggy boy and I hope that she remains this way and loves her fruits and vegetables.
Monkey boy is doing well in school. He is within the top 10% of his cohort and had been selected to be a prefect for next year. However it is time that I work with him to brush up on his weak components to ensure that his grades remain consistent next year. I too will be focusing on character building and building up his spiritual knowledge.
