Chinese New Year

February 9, 2008

Two days ago we ushered the Pig away and welcome the Rat.  The start to the Year of the Rat has been quite uneventful.

We were rudely awoken in the middle of the night and had to rush Roy to the doctor as he was running a fever. We we out of fever medicine so we had to drive him to the nearest 24-hr clinic. Consultation and medication cost were exorbitant as it was double charge. We had to pay $110 for that visit while a normal trip to the doctor during the daytime would cost the most $30-$40. Roy was given antibiotics, neufen, cough mixture and phlegm medication.

There was the usual gathering of family and relatives and feasting on CNY goodies. We didn’t go anywhere visiting as most of the relatives came over to my mum’s place.

Will be posting photos of the boys in their CNY costumes in their blog. 🙂
