April Bible Studies- Week 2- Day 3

April 1, 2015

For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. 16 Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves. 17 Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.

The tongue can be very viscous and sprout rumors about others. Even though words may not physically harm a person but it can certainly slice through a person’s heart.  The only way to squash such vile practices is to focus on doing good. That is the way that their tongues will be numbed.

Do not be too affected by the words of others. Many a times it can be easier said then done especially when it is said by someone who is dear to you. Words do stink and it does take some time for the hurt to evaporate.  Freedom of speech does not equate with using it as a weapon to bully or tear down others. Use your words wisely and no one can fault you for following your HEART and Christ.

Dear GOD,

Help me not to be too affected by the ways of others and assist me in offloading all my burdens to you in prayer. Teach me how to cope better with all the nastiness that are in this world and become a better person.
